History of the Building

In January 2004, the collection returned from temporary accomodation to a greatly expanded and developed library, with a new building (the Horner Markwick library ) designed by John Miller + Partners linking the Grade II* listed 1897 library (the Yates Thompson Library, Architect: Basil Champneys) and the 1982 Katharine Stephen Room (Architect: Van Heyningen & Haward).
