About this website

 

This site is managed using the Drupal open-source Content Management System, as implemented by Jonathan Pittock at  Cambridge Webworks. Newnham College Library staff own and edit their content directly. The main site editor is the Librarian, Deborah Hodder, with contributions from Jo Roos, and Library Graduate Trainees past and present, including Sarah Turk, Rebecca Gower, Lucy Campbell and Sarah Fletcher. Thanks go to Directors of Newnham College Library Company Limited, and to Mrs Katy Edgcombe, Dr Rachael Padman and other staff members of Newnham College who have provided assistance with site implementation and photographs.

The aesthetic design was developed by Sarah Turk, Library Graduate Trainee 2005-2006, with input from Deborah Hodder and other members of library staff.

The website operates under CentOS and is hosted on a Citrix virtual server , running Apache, PHP and MySQL. Ervito Vallega and Da Xing set up the hardware and keep it working.

This website displays best when anti-aliasing font rendering is enabled.  On PCs running Windows, anti-aliasing is provided through the ClearType fonts --  instructions for enabling ClearType are provided here. Most Macs should already have anti-aliasing enabled. Comments on the site are welcome, and may be sent to librarian@newn.cam.ac.uk.
